'XControls' the traditional Process Control and Factory Automation division of XCL Automation Ltd, has recently completed a series of projects to ensure Optimum Plant Performance for the manufacturing site of Scotts UK Ltd, part of the world's largest supplier of branded consumer lawn and garden feeds.

With an annual UK turnover in excess of £100 Million, and well known brands such as: 'Miracle Grow', 'Evergreen', 'Weedol' and 'Roundup', Scotts UK Ltd briefed XCL to develop a system which included a variety of turnkey electrical projects, ensuring various production facilities were dramatically improved through automation and upgrades to existing PLC and SCADA Process Control Systems.

A typical example was the installation of a new 'crusher', where XCL specialists not only designed and supplied the new control panel, but also ensured it was fully installed, whilst seamlessly integrating all cabling into the existing overall plant PLC and SCADA.
